"On the surface, the coronavirus is pretty nice. It gave me the safety net policy at Uni, allowed me to spend a whole term back home in HK and replaced exams (which I’m terrible at) with essays (which I’m not great at but more comfortable with). As an extro-introvert, self-isolation doesn’t seem that bad. But it is, when you’re watching the world around you fall apart. You see the wealth so obviously prioritize their profit over the livelihoods of their less financially privileged employees, you see people moving apartments because they can no longer afford their former ones, you see people you know actually pass away because of what is happening.
This fucking sucks. So I really hope that everyone is willing to do their part; contribute what they can, wear a mask, wash their hands, use hand sanitiser when you’re out, be kind to one another. In these times of social regression and even decay might I say, small things like these can bring monumental difference; it will literally save lives."
