We’re looking for stories on misrepresenting and appropriating culture for our next issue. (For August )
If you’re willing to submit a story, please answer one of the following questions below (A paragraph will suffice, but more is welcome)
1) How did you feel as a child not seeing your own race not being represented on screen and in general media?
2) What do you think about cultural appropriation?
3) What do you think of cultural stereotypes? Have you ever experienced any?
4) Have you ever felt misrepresented? How did that make you feel?
The Pigeon Hole Team will then illustrate an interpretation of your written submission (or you may illustrate one for yourself if you wish)- and check back with you once it's completed to get your approval of the piece.
Let us know what you would like as to credit you as (pen name/real name/anonymous) and country (if you're comfortable with that)!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, enjoy the rest of your day :)
We are accepting written submissions till the 9th August 2020.
And if you were interested in submitting an art piece (with written accompaniment) submissions end on the 16th August 2020.
Tell us YOUR story by using the submissions tab or click here, you can also DM us on Instagram @pigeonhole_illustrations!
